Rabbit SculptureConceptual work created as a symbolic interpretation of the Year of the Water Rabbit. The idea for this sculpture emerged while I was thinking about creating a piece for the New Year 2023. The phrase “Water Rabbit” itself felt unusual and unclear — it wasn’t obvious what this image could be. For some time, nothing came to mind. Then, quite unexpectedly, an image of a rabbit appeared in my mind — gently closing its eyes and breathing in, as if sensing a new current.
This gesture became the core of the sculpture. It is not about movement, but about perception — a quiet, almost fragile moment when something begins to change, even if it cannot yet be seen. The flowing surface of the form reflects this idea. The body is shaped as if influenced by water, with soft streams merging into subtle patterns. For me, this image became a symbol of hope — a quiet search for something better, a sense of looking into the future and trying to feel its direction. |

One of those projects where the idea was realized almost exactly as it first appeared.
The images below show 3D renderings of the digital sculpture, allowing a closer look at the form and surface details. |

In Chinese culture, the Year of the Rabbit symbolizes longevity, peace, and prosperity — and 2023 is also associated with hope. Interestingly, I came across this meaning only later, while writing the text for this project. Yet the image of the rabbit — sensing a new flow and looking toward the future with quiet hope — had been at the core of the idea from the very beginning. I don’t think that is a coincidence. |

The Sculpture as a Physical Presence |
| The sculpture realized in transparent resin — a version that comes closest to the original vision, where the flowing form is expressed most clearly. |
