Rabbit Figurine Conceptual Sculpture of the mystical Water Rabbit as a symbol of the New Year 2023 *** Creating mystical characters is both interesting and quite a difficult task. …Because you don't know for sure what that imaginary creature should look like :) So, in some certain sense, working on such projects is a meditative process. …2023 Year of the Water Rabbit… Water Rabbit… how is it possible?… A few months ago, I thought of making a symbolic sculpture for the New Year …but somehow nothing original came to mind …so I decided to leave this idea until “better times”. …but a few days ago, quite unexpectedly, an image of a rabbit appeared in my mind, which, dreamily closing its eyes, sniffs a new stream, and water droplets flow around its body, merging into thin rivulets and patterns…

One of those projects where the idea was implemented as close as possible to reality. *** In the images below, I made 3D renderings of the Digital Sculpture so you can better see the details of this cute character :)

In Chinese culture, the Year of the Rabbit symbolizes longevity, peace and prosperity …and 2023 is also expected to be a year of hope. * …interestingly, I found information about the meaning of this symbol already when I was writing the text for the publication of the work …but the image of the Rabbit, who felt a new flow and looks to the future with hope, was the main concept of this project from the very beginning …I think it's not for nothing ;)
