Lamb bas-relief on spherical toy surface, digital sculpting for CaaOcho natural rubber production

Lamb Ball — Custom Toy Sculpt with Bas-Relief

Custom digital sculpting project for toy production.

This piece was developed as part of the same project for CaaOcho (Canada) — a children’s ball featuring a lamb bas-relief integrated into the spherical surface.

The model was created based on the same gypsum reference provided by the client. As with the figurine, the form was rebuilt from scratch through digital sculpting to achieve clean geometry, production-ready surface quality, and precise control over detail.

The main challenge was to create a bas-relief on a curved surface that closely matches the full 3D figurine, so both read as the same character despite being developed as separate pieces.

Particular attention was given to the wool texture. Each curl was sculpted individually and adjusted to maintain consistency across the form, while also adapting naturally to the curvature of the sphere. Depth and spacing were carefully controlled to ensure the relief remains clear after casting in rubber.

The model was prepared for 3D printing and production in natural rubber. The diameter of the ball is 86 mm.
