Snail-Inspired Door Handle — Conceptual Design

A conceptual door handle based on an organic, snail-inspired form.

The project was created for the “Maniglia Nuova 2013” competition entry by designers Svetlana Shiyan and Jaroslav Mishenov, based on their initial sketches and references.

The handle follows a flowing, elongated curve derived from the shape of a snail’s body and shell, adapted to fit a functional grip.

The circular base is designed as a stylized organic form, referencing a flower structure and connecting the handle visually to the door surface.

The object can be realized physically through casting or 3D printing.

Initial concept sketches and reference materials provided by the designers.

They define the organic direction of the object — a snail-inspired form adapted into a functional door handle, along with the idea of a decorative base.
