Goatling Bas-Relief Sculpture

Digital Sculpting for Children's Toy Production.

This piece was developed as part of a children’s toy series for the company “CaaOcho” (Canada), intended for production in natural rubber.

The goatling bas-relief was created based on photo references provided by the client, without a direct sculptural reference, as was provided for the previous two sculptures.

At the same time, it had to visually match the character of the sculptural lamb from the same toy series, maintaining a consistent style and proportions.

The main challenge was developing the form under these conditions — building a clear, well-defined bas-relief while ensuring it aligns stylistically with the rest of the series.

Additional complexity came from refining the surface and the goatling’s fur texture, with repeated test 3D prints used to carefully adjust depth, softness, size, and clarity until the desired result was achieved.

These images present the model in a sculptural shader, highlighting the structure of the bas-relief, surface transitions, and clarity of the form on a curved object.
