Feather Sculptural Rings
Sculptural Jewelry with Flowing Forms
The concept is built around a feather lightly touching the surface, creating a sense of soft movement — as if the form reacts to contact and spreads outward.
I made this design in two variations.
One is more minimal, with a clean ring profile and subtle flowing transitions across the surface.
The other develops this idea further, introducing a ripple effect — as if the feather touches water and gentle waves expand outward, continuing even into the inner surface of the ring.
The form is intentionally expressive and not strictly everyday.
The elevated feather element creates a more sculptural silhouette, which may interact with clothing or movement.
At the same time, all transitions are carefully softened, and the edges of the feather are refined to maintain a comfortable interaction with the hand.
The surface is built with smooth, fluid transitions that catch light softly, creating a calm reflective behavior rather than sharp highlights.
From a production perspective, the design is well suited for standard high-resolution 3D printing or casting workflows, without requiring highly specialized equipment.

These images are presented using a sculptural shader that reveals the structure of the form, the flow of surfaces, and the precision of transitions without distraction from reflective materials.
This makes it possible to clearly read how the feather, the ripple variation, and the inner surface are built as a continuous sculptural system.
Here, the expanded ring concept is shown in detail, revealing the full sculptural form from different angles.
The flowing water forms became the starting point for a new interpretation — a ring that captures the look of liquid metal frozen in motion.
The original design was further developed in ZBrush, with much deeper relief and a more intricate pattern of flowing folds, giving Liquid Metal Ring its own distinct character.

These images are composed with controlled, directional lighting on a deep dark background, where the object is revealed selectively rather than fully shown.
Light moves along the edges and surfaces, tracing the feather and the curvature of the ring, allowing the form to emerge through a sequence of highlights and shadow.
This approach is closer to high-end jewelry photography, focusing on silhouette, presence, and the subtle behavior of light across the sculptural surface.
This was the original concept behind the entire series and the starting point for all the forms that followed.
The idea took on a more everyday form, keeping the fluid movement of water across the ring’s surface while making the design more versatile.
It could also be used as a basis for a matching engagement ring set, with a slimmer, more elegant version for her and a wider adaptation for him.
This ring took the original idea further, bringing the feather’s touch to life through expanding circular ripples across a bold, wide design.
The flowing contours give the ring a stronger sculptural presence, capturing the movement of water in a more expressive form.
The idea then took another turn in the Liquid Metal Ring, where the flowing movement of water became something more like molten metal, stretching and folding into a form of its own.
The result is a design with a distinct character, shaped by bold, irregular folds and a continuous sense of movement.
