Bas-Relief Sculpture Developed for the Production of Collectible Coins

This project was created as a custom sculptural work made for an individual order, intended for coin manufacturing.

The work was based on visual references provided by the client, but reinterpreted as a three-dimensional sculptural form adapted for production.

The sculptural task focused on translating detailed natural forms into an extremely shallow relief, maintaining clarity and readability within strict physical limitations.
The height of the relief was limited to approximately 0.18 mm, requiring precise control over depth, transitions, and layering of forms.

Several variations of the obverse composition were developed, exploring different positions and dynamics of the birds, while the reverse side was designed as a separate structured relief.

The coins were produced in gold, which placed additional emphasis on precision and surface clarity at this scale.

Particular attention was given to how the relief behaves under light, ensuring that fine details remain visible after minting despite the minimal depth.

The final result demonstrates a production-ready sculptural model, where form, surface, and technical constraints are resolved as a unified system.
