Stylized Capricorn bas-relief digital sculpture inspired by molten metal casting into ice

Capricorn — Sculptural Bas-relief Concept

Custom digital sculpting project.

This piece was created as part of a larger concept — a series of zodiac signs developed as sculptural bas-reliefs.

The visual direction is inspired by a distinctive material process: molten metal cast into ice.
As the metal rapidly solidifies, it forms organic, unpredictable structures with a raw, fluid character.

In this project, I recreated this effect through digital sculpting.
The form was shaped to imitate the natural flow and solidification of metal, with slight irregularities that give the piece a sense of movement.

Capricorn became the first completed piece in the series. The concept was approved by the client as a direction for further development and was intended for a large-scale installation in a space museum in New York.

However, the work coincided with the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. As many projects were affected during that time, the series was never continued.
