Classic Bed 3D Model — Cloth Simulation and Detailed TopologyCreation of a 3D model of the “Artichoke” bed in a European country style. (February, 2014) The original scope of this project was focused solely on the production-ready bed frame, developed as part of a furniture collection based on client-provided designs. The model was intended for manufacturing purposes, requiring clean, precise geometry and accurate proportions. However, for portfolio presentation, the project was extended beyond its initial requirements. Instead of presenting the model as a bare structure, a fully realized scene was created, featuring detailed bedding designed to convey a natural, lived-in atmosphere. The goal was to move away from overly perfect, staged presentation and instead capture a more authentic moment — the subtle disorder of fabric, the relaxed composition of a casually displaced blanket, and the tactile quality of soft materials. This approach transforms the model from a purely technical asset into a visual narrative, suitable for high-end interior visualization and close-up rendering scenarios where realism and material expression are essential. The bedding was developed with a strong focus on natural deformation, believable folds, and nuanced surface behavior, ensuring that the scene maintains visual credibility even at close viewing distances. |
